Hey Girl!! Hope your Grandmother is feeling better and I hope all goes well for you at the interview. We are all rooting for you.

Thanks so much, everyone! I'm looking forward to hearing the news either way, hopefully before the weekend (I'll definitely let you all know).
Also, unfortunately, my grandmother and father probably won't improve. My grandmother is 95 and her kidneys are failing (she refuses dialysis) and there are a lot of other issues. She's in a lot of pain, but what a trooper she is! She's still doing her rehab to strengthen her legs, and other than not being able to walk or stand very well, the rest of her (including her mind and spirit) are as good as ever! It sounds like my dad also had a bit of a problem last night and had to go to the hospital again (he is normally in a nursing home on a ventilator). It was a good visit. I may not get to see them again for a long time, but the visit helped all of us I think and gave me a chance to possibly say goodbye if things deteriorate quickly.

Crumbs Cynthia you really are having a tough time, I wish there was something I could say to help. If you need to "sound off", PM me and let fly---I have broad shoulders and a thick skin!Fingers crossed with the interview.

Awww, thanks so much! That reminds me! I forgot to change the calendar you sent me to May! Time for a lovely new scene, yay!

Best of luck with the interview, Cynthia. And good that you were able to fit in the visit with family under the circumstances; it's hard to brace oneself for what you know must come.
Proudly Duncan [maternal], MacDonald and MacDaniel [paternal].

Best of luck to ya, I was laid off last july and was lucky enough to find a part time job to pay the rent but I understand the stress of having to go through the application proccess hoping it will work out!
I myself am a week away (pending first aid upgrade) from applying to york regional police in ontario

Hmm, sounds like stress overload. Try to get out among the spring flowers where the waters flow and the birds sing; they always put me right again. Good luck on the job interview. Sounds special. Something that has really helped me of late (besides Google Maps and Google Earth) is the National Geodetic Survey maps which are now downloadable free as PDFs. Amazing! For folks trying to hunt down plats and plots, they are invaluable.

Cynthia,
For Mother's Day one year, I gave my mom a wall plaque with a really silly looking frog sitting in a flower bed on it (she loved frogs) and the caption:
Don't hurry
Don't worry
Don't forget to smell the smell the flowers
She told me every time she was feeling down, she would look at that plaque and it would make her smile.
Best of luck with the job.

What a wonderful job that would be in the library genealogy dept. Best of luck to both you and your husband.
And what a wonderful example your grandmother is; never giving up and going on with the strength of her loved ones around her. A trooper, indeed!
