I decided to polish my blade today. I worked on it for an hour with emery compound and a wheel, and it just kept it's pewter appearance, and I nearly ruined my buffer wheel. So if you want a nice mirror polished blade, Track of the Wolf blades seem to not be a good idea. Atlanta Cutlery blades are the way to go for shiny polish. On the other hand... TotW blades are heavy and strong, and so are more utilitarian.

Beautiful! I love simple sgians; no fancy carving or multi-faceted stones or any of that stuff for me. You did an excellent job! I especially love the button used for the pommel.

Yeah, man, I'm the same way! I love the simple. The lantern in my background is from my living room... It and 3 others like it are my primary source of light. I'm actually a fairly primitive and simple person. The button was given to me by Sydnie at Flamingo Kilts. She made me a waist coat with those buttons, and gave me the three leftovers, so when I make my dirk, I'm going to put a matching button in the... well... button of the antler! Same antler, same button- it'll make a nice matched set!

    Hawk is a caveman.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

No no- cave men live in caves. I live in a house... unless I can live in a tent. I just bought my son a WW II army pup tent, actually. We set it up in the back yard yesterday. He said it was "epic!" Kids.

Ok, ok, cave is the wrong analogy; though a house and even a tent could be considered a cave...

Hawk is a "nestman." I'm sure you would admire a good wigwam.

I happen to live in an aluminum bungalow-cave, so there!

This is my dream home, man! I want 5 acres in the mountains, and one of these to live in.

    A yurt...and a trebuchet or two...and some hand-honed broadswords...and a long bow...and some woad..and...a few pheasants roasting on the spit...and...um...
