Kilted Knee Protection When Driving

What about having the driver's side window tinted? I used to drive all over AZ & I don't ever recall my knees being sunburned. Same with "exploding windshields" from the heat. Maybe the latter only happens to snowbirds.

I used to get a catalog from Solumbra with SPF-equivalent clothing and accessories. Looking online, that company and others offer hand guards, arm guards, neck guards. . . but no "kilt knee" guards! They do have scarfs and such that would stand in; while much pricier than a bandanna, they also provide superior protection.

IIRC there is also a ? wash-in ? treatment that will give your cotton clothing an SPF effect.
