Pleat Depth Dynamics

For a nice eight yard kilt I lean towards deeper pleats because if the pleats become too shallow they tend to hang "open" and begin to curl out. Deep pleats do not move out of shape as much so you are less likely to sit on an open pleat and they tend to last longer without wrinkling as much.
