Those are gorgeous! Often they will soften up after being washed a few times.

CAREFULLY follow the washing instructions you were (hopefully) given, or check with the knitter. And give her our congratulations.

I'll echo what fluter said, and add that you should ONLY hand wash these hose in cold water. All the intricacy of the cables will soften and fuzz and be ruined if you machine wash them. I learned that the hard way once.

Beautiful hose. And enjoy the clear nail polish on those chigger bites!

Tobus, those are handsome hose - I like the color and cable design. I don't think they are too high on your leg, btw. I also like your brown wing-tips!

Those are awesome! I will admit, I thought "the top needs to turn down more to look really good..." and then I saw the additional section of the turnover in the second photo.

Do you figure the lady who knit those, would be willing to knit another pair?

If I had those hose made, though, I would want a wider turnover cuff, about twice as wide as you have there. I suppose I'm used to the "pipers socks" with the very wide turnover cuffs.
She can make them however wide the customer wants. In fact, as I mentioned earlier, this is a double-turnover. So I could adjust the width of it if I wanted. But I actually find most typical hose to have too wide of a turnover. So I kind of like the width of these.

Yes, she is willing to do that. I asked her if she minded if I gave her contact info to others and she said that was fine. If anyone here would like it, please PM me and I'll pass it along.

BTW - Tobus, those are great hose, do you know the weight of the yarn? They look worsted?
She uses only Patons Classic Wool yarn (or I suppose any yarn that is equal weight and such). I don't know jack about yarn, but I'm sure you can find the info you need

Tobus, do you remember which color the yarn is? I'm looking at the moss heather, and it looks very similar to your color.
