First Sporran - Roy Roy
Hi All, for everyone's advice in my question thread HERE, thank you.
Here is my first Rob Roy style sporran. I started with the basic pattern available everywhere online, and made a few modifications.
If you go back and look at my questions thread, you can see a .6 size mock up I made (which was the perfect size for my son).
Moving onto the full size I was able to cover the flap, as well as do a decent hem on the bag's top.
The cabochon and bells/toggles are made of Cocobolo, a very nice African hardwood. This sporran has a nice 'clack' when you walk.

The colour of the leather is a bit odd and hard to picture, but is truest in the above shot.
And with a load of stuff in it.

I can easily get a wallet, keys, cellphone, sunglasses, ipod, pipe, tobacco pouch, lighter, flask, and still have room to spare.
As always, helpful commentary is more than welcome.
I did learn some things I can't wait to try on #2...
making your own sporrans really is addictive.
Now to find this guy a good home.

Reason: to correct name of wood used for toggles and cabochon.
