For what it's worth, in the interest of keeping a balanced design, I'd eschew the use of the Chiefly Arms (which while possibly correct would certainly be inappropriate) and stick with the clansman's badge and the crab apple tree. Good art, be it heraldry or wood carving, is all about a balanced design (but then I am obviously preaching to the choir about wood carving ) and I think the full arms of your chief would seriously unbalance things-- just my opinion.

Thanks for all of the advice gents, I will be sure to post pics of the final outcome. Still thinking of different layouts, but I won't be using the Arms or the Standard.
