I have bought 2 SWK's for my 9 year old, and for the price (16.95) they can't be beat!! He out grew his first one and now has a Black Watch kilt to match mine for a great price. He'll out grow it before he wears it out.. Then I'll just spend another 16.95 and get him another. I want to wait till he gets a little older then I buy him his first wool tank.. but at the prices SWK has for kids kilts, thats going to be a while..

SWK Can't Beat
the prices. I own most of the ones that Jerry has in the standard line and I love 'em. They are great for general wear and I go to work kilted. I come home and change into one of the economy kilts, and enjoy the evenings, go out and do some yard work or cut the grass on my green and yellow lawn tractor. Not having any wee ones (mine all are all grown) to kilt. I can't speak for them, but, if they are made like the rest of Jerry's kilts, you can't go wrong for the money.

Well my 4 yr old's kilt came today. And I gotta say for the price I am satisfied. I think a few more pleats woulda been nice. It has only 8 really wide ones. I also think would've been nice if it had a drop from the waist to the pleats. They run open all the way to the waist band?? But again, the price is right and he will out grown it by next spring. Also he's really excited about looking like daddy!! So...For to $20 odd bucks I paid including shipping I would buy another..Thanks all

Well, with a kilt belt, few will notice that the pleats aren't sewn down, though I've read here at Xmarks of folks that do it themselves.

Here's where we discussed it once: Some assembly allowed.
Just figure out how much taper from waist to hip is needed (if any---boys are often cylindrical, unlike their dads), and spread that amount among the pleats. If you have access to a copy of The Art of Kiltmaking, it'll show you exactly how to make the stitches invisible. If not, you'll be able to come pretty close. Start at the bottom of the fell, and work up to the waistband.
