I'm not sure really, though I do vary by a couple inches one way or the other the past few years. My weight has stayed steady the last 3 or 4 years (240 to 250 lb range), but has grown (mostly in the gut & chest) over the past 15 years, where I was 225 to 230 (I'm also about 6'3").
I really need to get it down
Of course this will affect future kilt/clothing purchases, however the recent photo thread by Barb T. on moving the buckles has given me hope on recent kilt purchases

When in 1964 I graduated from high school my weight was 75 kg (165 pounds) for a height of 180 cm (5’11”).
By August 1969 it had increased to 80 kg (176 pounds) and just three months later to 88 kg (194 pounds), mainly due to having become a product manager with a chocolate manufacturing company.
In January 1991 I couldn’t stand chocolate anymore, could not eat anything for that matter, and in only four months I went down to 66 kg (145 pounds).
Later my weight for years ‘stabilized’ around 75 kg with a fluctuation of plus/minus 5 kg but then it starting going upwards.
In 2008 I peaked with 85 kg (187 pounds) and decided put an end to it.
In a short time I have dropped 13 kg and for a long period of time I have kept my weight at 72 kg or 158 pounds. And I feel much better, I should say, and I'll keep it there.
Since my youth I have also lost 2-3 cm in height – without having any in-between increases, however.
Kilt waists have been 36”, 37”, 38” and are now 35”.
I still have two or three 38” kilts waiting to be sewn in or sold.
Last year I in practically no time managed to sell three 38” kilts (Danish kind of eBay) – in a country with no men in kilts!
(At the same time I was selling some other “normal” goods in the same way but they moved much slower, and some I simply had to give up selling).
Made to measure is fine – if you keep your shape.

My weight fluctuates from my ideal 130 pounds to a heavy 160 pounds. My pants size fluctuates from 32 inches up to 35 inches. Usually staying around 33-34 inches.
It's maddening. I could probably keep it more regulated, but that requires constant monitoring and discipline that I simply don't have. So I have two sets of clothes. One for the thinner Tobus and one for the fatter Tobus.
The kilt I bought less than a year ago is already too large for me since I've lost some weight since last fall. And the kilt I have on the way may already be a little loose on me by the time it gets here. The good news is that surely they'll fit me again some day when I gain the weight back.

When I got out of Recruit Training (aka bootcamp) I was at 250 pounds, with out trace of fat anywhere. I'm 6'1" tall, and the insurance tables say I should be at 189 max. However, I'm built more like the barrell they used to ship a Marine, than the classic broad shoulders slim hip configuration. Over the years, as my work when from the manufacturing floor to the engineering and now management offices, my activity level dropped and my weight crept up to just over 400 pounds. About the same time I joined this forum, my doctor told me I had 2 choices- exercise and lose weight, or die. I have chosen to exercise and lose weight. I'm now down to abot 320, with the goal of reaching my boot weight of 250. I won't have quite as much lean muscle mass as I had then (41 years ago) but the doc and I will be satisfied there. I'm losing around a pound a week, so I have a little over a year to go. Fortunately, as Barb T. has noted in another thread, it is much easier to make a kilt fit a amaller size than a larger.

I have two seasons when it comes to my weight/body size (losing/gaining). Lately, however,the gaining has outpaced the losing. I tend to loose weight at the start of the school year because I'm very active both in the classroom and extra-curricular activities. Then I fall off the wagon around the holidays(when visiting family in Chicago it's hard not to schedule the trip around food/pizza). Then late spring and summer I loose most of my weight because the trout are beckoning me to a nearby river. By the end of the summer, I usually loose 20-25 pounds mainly because I'm so active on the river. And then the cycle starts again. Very frustrating when you want to order a made to order kilt. I will go with the larger measurements because it is easier to take in rather than let out a kilt. Right now I'm at 260 and falling (hopefully soon 'cause I want to order a made to measure from Burnett's and Struth)

I said "steadily gaining", but I should have said "inch or so fluctuation". There was a definite gain in college, when I stopped regular training. There was a classic swivel chair spread gain when I got a 9-to-5, another gain when I moved across the country and my diet went to hell, then another gain when I had a badly sprained ankle and couldn't continue running/biking/hiking for a while...it's been fairly steady for the last few years now, and seems lately to have involved shifting mass from the lower half and the middle, to the upper half. My old suit jacket no longer fits in the shoulders, which makes me feel a little better about not fitting the pants.
The waist measurement is actually shrinking a little since I measured for my kilt, and I'm cool with that.
I do have a fairly regular exercise routine, so I don't expect any massive fluctuations, outside of anything medical.
