I spoke with Ruth today, and she said that Rex is feeling better. No word on how long he will be in the hospital, but she will let me know when there is a change in his status. I asked her to pass on to Rex the best wishes expressed in this thread by the various XMarkers, and to let him know that there are some cards on their way.

(...I posted a card last night, after my dog had a run-in with a skunk! ...somehow I think Rex would like the local wildlife angle )
