Mike that is the Caledonia Ancient tartan (House of Edgar as I recall) made for me at the Celtic Craft Centre in Edinburgh.

Thanks for the identification, Trefor. I have only seen Caledonia in book illustrations and jpgs previously, and seeing it as a kilt in Ancient colours caught me out!
Would you explain about the three aprons?
I rather like the black-and-white check.

A kilt has an inner and outer apron Mike and then the third apron was the checked one you liked.
