Trefor and a Land Rover and a shunting engine

    Almost a Hamish pose.

Trefor arranged for me to have ride in the driver's cab, beside the driver, (or motorman or engineer as our American friends might describe him)

Driver's eye view along the line

    Pleats shot

    Trefor in the ticket office.

A final shot, leaving the platform at Furnace Sidings.

Some great steam pics there (okay, and diesel, too), and some great kilt shots, as well.
Trefor, that is a handsome tartan you are wearing. What is it called?
Alex, I await your pictures with a measure of excitement.
    Regards,
    Mike

Mike that is the Caledonia Ancient tartan (House of Edgar as I recall) made for me at the Celtic Craft Centre in Edinburgh.

Thanks for the identification, Trefor. I have only seen Caledonia in book illustrations and jpgs previously, and seeing it as a kilt in Ancient colours caught me out!
Would you explain about the three aprons?
I rather like the black-and-white check.
    Regards,
    Mike

A kilt has an inner and outer apron Mike and then the third apron was the checked one you liked.
