Congratulations. Probably the difference between "matching" and "going together."
I would never know for sure.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

You look excellent! I'm very impressed with how very well the various elements work together. I have no problem with the shoes - if Sandy can wear his fine Belgian shoes (if I am remembering the thread correctly) with his kilt, then those brown dress shoes ought to be just as acceptable.
What would I change? For the sake of even more variety - I'd go for a different-coloured tweed waistcoat!

The idea of not matching has been hard for me to comprehend as the pics from the original review my attire thread can attest. From looking at the pics and reviewing everything, one thing comes to mind, the nonmatching look is very organic and real while matching looks more of a "Scottish Costume."
You sir look the part and I commend you.

* Nevermind about the brown shoes; glad Jock liked it.

I like it.........it looks relaxed and classy without looking like you're [i[trying[/i] to look relaxed. Very good!!
Maybe, as a follow on from this, and from the travelling Saltire, we could have a travelling tie to post around. Every recipient must them post a photo of themselves wearing a non-matching kilt outfit for review by the rabble. The "owner" must put together an outfit that the Grand Master of Non-Matching Kilt-wear (our own jovial Jock) approves off before he or she can pass the tie on.
Sound like an idea?

Great outfit. I must admit I probably would never have worn that shirt with a kilt but seeing it in action has reversed my thinking. Great look.
Could we possibly see a comparison of earlier pictures to see the difference?
I am inspired. Thank you!

Mr. Carter...
I like your whole set-up... Looks Great!!! But I really like your Sporran as it is alot like mine except that yours is two-tone... and I really like that alot. I also like your Tweed Coat and Vest as they also blend nicely with your Sporran. Could you give us some close-ups of each item of your attire with some descriptions? I'd like to know about your choice of Tartan pattern also.
Agian... it really looks Great!!!
Thanks...

looking good- staying cool
I believe you look very good, indeed. But, seeing your lovely wife in one layer of what looks like cotton and you in three layers, two of them wool, I take my hat off to you for dressing up in all of that just to help out your friends at X Marks. How hot was it in Savannah that day?
Thanks for the pictures.
