Wierd - thought Craigie was a she.....whichever - I had enough problems when they were up and running a few years ago...totally overlooked my order...then months later sent the wrong item and had to exchange it - and she was angry, like it was somehow my fault....

If she had that attitude and poor service with everyone would guess she is out of business by now.

She used to be in Punta Gorda, Florida. Maybe a local knows more current info.

    New Sporran

Well since Craigies didn't work out I have one coming from Thorfinn Sporrans, with a flap that will match my Multicam Kilt! Really looking forward to it! Black buffalo, 'cause you know black goes with most anything! I am looking to order a sporran strap and a new kilt belt also..... but need my money back from Craigie!

Hey, I think you made out pretty well. Turpin's sporrans are top-notch.

Because of your bad experience and your service in the sand, I went ahead and have largely completed your sporran, exceptt for the camo flap, since i'm awaiting the cloth in the mail. just letting you know.

Too bad about Craigie. they had a great product. Keep your eyes out on ebay - sometimes a Craigie comes up - I saw a badger go for about $190.

    RE: Cragies

    Thanks Turpin,
The swatches have already been sent, I would assume you are waiting on the skulls also. I don't have much faith in the APO system, but it is all I have.

    Thorfinn Sporrans

I now have my Thorfinn Sporran in black buffalo, and I have to tell y'all that if you want a quality product this is the place to go. The leather work is awesome and it is just what I ordered. I may have to order some other flaps in the future, but man is it nice! Now I am just waiting on my belt and kilt strap from Oconee leather. (don't think I spelled it correctly) Can't wait for that!

Yes, her husband died, and she took over the business. I suspect it was a tough road.

That's a shame - my favorite day sporran is a falconer bag that Craigie made for me along with a belt and sheath for my dirk. It was a ways back but they were great people to work with and it all went spot on. Sorry to hear about his passing.

I'll second Ryan Ross on your sporran choice. You can't go wrong with a Thorfinn. Turpin does great work.

When you get your money back, consider Oconee Leatherworks for your belt and strap. I just received my second belt and strap from Oconee (Celtic embossed with edge bead, this time in black for use with a new sporran), and they're top notch.

    RE: Belt/Sporran Strap

I have already started talks with Oconee Leather, Turpin recommended him, looking like black to match the sporran with edge beading, have to decide on buckle and width. So, yeah! Looks like quality stuff, and he has been very helpful, don't want to go too fancy, I have several kilts! Usually wear with Army belt right now, and o'course Army Boots!
