Ditto to the OP. Let's add my experience: mainly it's the positive comments I receive (albeit a few negative in there, also). The majority of comments seem to come from the fairer sex. Go figure!???

    Truth!

...Mostly photos and conversations. A little good-natured chain yanking, too . Gotta give it back like ya get it!

So far it has been strange looks from the gents and smiles from the ladies. My wife stated that I tend to smile more when I'm in the kilt, like I've told a joke and am watching others get the punch line.

Had a gent tell me that he couldn't wear a kilt as he wasn't Scottish. I told him that I wasn't either and I've got to get back by his office again with one of my kilts and let him try it on for a bit.

I don't wear my kilt as much as I'd like to during the day as I am a volunteer firefighter and the thought of trying to either stuff the kilt or strip it off to get it into bunker gear (protective clothing) just doesn't seem to be too very professional when at a scene. I do tend to wear it on Wednesday's (Whisky Wednesday!) and on the weekend as a definite touch of freedom!
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

I've had people tell me that I have to wear my royal stewart at all home football games as a good luck charm now. The two times we've lost so far this year were away games where I didn't wear my kilt.lol

I'm just glad to know it wasn't my fault for attending the SC game.

Sadly, I've not been given anything or had anything bought for me for wearing the kilt. Several questions mainly revolving around whether or not I was attending Highland Games or if I played bagpipes, but that's about it. Then again, I'm not exactly a regular kilty.

I wore my kilt for Halloween a few years back. I got a few comments, as well as 'the question.' Didn't think much of it until the following year. There's a lass who now asks "Where's the guy in the kilt" when she comes to the door.
I wonder how many years in a row this'll happen?

This year, my wife asked what I would be wearing for Halloween (I usually stay home and hand out the treats). My reply? "Pants!" Of course, I still wore a kilt, as I have been doing every day since April!

Let's see... the kilt has brought me: free coffee, free beers, one job offer (I passed on it), a few phone numbers, fun conversations, and... best of all... a few new friends.

I have had a lot of nice encounters and chats. People are always curious and mostly courteous. Really brings out the nice in folks. I had a nice talk with a young couple on the subway in Boston, hugs from women at the airport. Always questions about why, how one can get one, whether I play the bagpipes. It is a nice plus to wearing my favorite garment.

I too have made many friends and also enjoy the fact that my wife likes seeing me in the kilt. But also, I've enjoyed talking about my Scottish heritage as well as the history of my Clan (MacTavish).
