I agree, this kilt will be nice as a pub kilt, or for just kickin' around. I, too, prefer to keep my good wool kilts for dressier occasions.

Now, wouldn't this tartan look awesome in a 16 oz., 8 yd. wool tank?? Oh, and pleated to either the sett or orange line.

I believe both pleating to the sett and to the stripe is an option for made-to-order kilts from the Frugal Corner. The stock models that Dennis and I have are from the first batch but I think the next batch will be pleated to a different stripe. I'll be sure to post some pics when I get my made-to-order with different pleating.

As for having a wool tank in this tartan, I think it would be awesome! At the moment, the only place that has the NWI tartan is the Frugal Corner and theirs is, as previously mentioned, acrylic. Maybe someday though, someone will ask permission from me to have it woven in 16 oz wool. I'd love to see it!!!

I wore the NWI kilt to a Christmas lite up night on Friday...received many great comments. And one from an Irish lass now living in the USA.

Hmm, I might have to consider this tartan in wool, but pleated to the orange stripe.

    Very nice!

And I like the "black-out" look, too. I've been doing the black shirt/leathers for years, but have gotten away from it, of late, which may be a shame; it's understated, I'd say, which goes well with kilt wearing.
