Welcome!
Do you work for a MP? I worked many years ago for the Secretary of State as an Executive Assistant.
Ottawa is a wonderful city. My Fleming and Mackintosh relations all were from Ottawa. My father is buried at Beechwood. On the other hand, some of my Holt, Molson, Johnston, and Hardinge kinsfolk were from Montreal!

Hi, Presidential, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa.
As a naturist, I can identify with your desire to go freehiking, but I see little point in carrying a kilt as an instant cover-up.
In fact, you would be better off wearing a kilt while hiking (with no other clothing, should you so prefer), since you will have that feeling of freedom without the need to cover up.
Certainly, I can foresee problems if you have the pleats sewn tight at the lower end, since this will deprive you of the principal advantage of wearing a kilt: it will not swing freely. In effect, you will be wearing a tube, rather than a kilt.
Give it a try! I think you will find it liberating.
Regards,
Mike

Shouldn't you therefore be calling yourself "Primeministerial" instead of Presidential? Anyway I used to work nearby your location but after 9-11 was glad to relocate...
