Of course most of us are disappointed that we didn't win, but I'm sure I can speak for many of us in saying that starting out with a really good kilt will save you some of the painful explorations and disappointments of lesser garments. Oh yes, nearly any kilt is a step up from p@n+$, but not every kilt is equal, as you will no doubt discover.
    Congrats & welcome!
EPITAPH: Decades from now, no one will know what my bank balance looked like, it won't matter to anyone what kind of car I drove, nor will anyone care what sort of house I lived in. But the world will be a different place, because I did something so mind bafflingly eccentric that my ruins have become a tourist attraction.

Are you near Goergetown and/or New Albany? I have some cousins there.

When given a choice, most people will choose.

If you end up with the same 13oz Allen 1996 from Dalgleish that I got, you should be very pleased, as it makes up into a nice looking kilt. You and i may be the only ones out there wearing it but we will wear it with pride. Congratulations. Can't wait to see your pics.

Due to some 17th century West Virginia hillbilly inbreeding in my family background I have more Allen blood in my veins than Foster/Forrester----three consecutive generations of my Foster ancestors married Allen women, all of whom were related to each other either as niece or first cousins, making at least one of those marriages between double first cousins.

Funny that we will have probably the only two kilts in that tartan in the country and live only an hour or so away from each other. Perhaps we will run into each other at one of the local games sometime.
