Quaich at a wedding reception?

At our wedding, two years ago, we gave each other a sip of mead from a quaich, and said "Thou art my choice of earthly joy."

I was just wondering if there was some kind of special toast using a quaich we could do.

If you have any other ideas that would be appreciated.

I don't know if there's a "special" or "traditional" Scottish toast to say, but what about mixing in some Japanese elements? I'd imagine there's a traditional Japanese toast or blessing or poem or something that could be used, and drink the toast from your quaich.


And take lots of pictures.

Is that the thing you stomp on and break to smithereens? OK, I imagine not.

Usually it's a special glass wrapped in cloth that gets broken. Many these days use a light bulb! It makes a great 'pop' when it breaks.
