My wife just rolled her eyes at the thought. Said she'd call the looney bin if I kilt up and go out in below zero weather.

Sadly, my wife just calls that 'normal' for me
Gotta fight off the cabin-fever somehow, eh?

I dunno...my shovelling style has been heavily influenced by watching the sheaf toss at highland games.
...and I got done shovelling at ten and it's 11:04 and you can't tell that I was out there...
...and how many snow blowers can there be on one city block? There's me and the guy two doors down actually shovelling and there's got to be eight guys out there revvin' the snow blowers...and this is the city: a lot is either 35 or 50 feet frontage so it's not like they have to go a quarter-mile to get to the mailbox.

Gosh, it rained here a couple of days ago.
I stayed inside all day, of course, and didn't get out of bed until noon.
(not really....though it DID rain)

I also realized while shoveling the 18 inch drifts in my drive---that one can practice good sheaf release techinques whilst shoveling snow. You just have to judge the wind correctly so you don't get that frozen blast down your neck. Excellent work on 'popping' the release!
I seriously need help---or a vacation--or to start drinking later in the day

I was pitching the snow over my shoulder and landing it neatly in a pile on the parkway when a neighbor came by and said, "Gee, you're pretty good at that."
To which I responded, "Well, I ought to be...I spent two years shoveling coal into the boiler of a ship in the Far East when I was younger."
A total fabrication, of course...but I got that is-he-kidding-or-for-real look out of this guy...

A few years back, it snowed for the Angels Camp Games. We DO have pictures of that one. I remember that games not so much for the snow but because I beat Big Jimmy in the Masters 50+ class that day. My record vs him is something like 2 wins and 37 second places and yet I love him like he's my brother.

Tossing the caber in the snow may not be a good idea, but practicing the Open stone and Weight for distance throws I bet you good get some damn good spins going. LOL
We got about 5" here yesterday and last night, I just leave the stuff to melt off.

I must admit I have become lazy during the winter! I try to keep a routine of 4 workouts a week but I have started including shovelling snow as routines. That is lazy but I just can't help it! haha
