Edinburgh Kiltmaker
Hector Russell and Geoffrey (Tailor) are good kiltmakers, but Celtic Craft Centre is much better. You will get better and more personal service.

I have purchased kilts from boh Geoffrey (Tailor) and Celtic Craft Center and can recommend them both. From your POV, you can best determine what works logistically.

I have purchased several items from Goeffrey (tailor) at various highland games and have always been satisfied with their frendliness and service. I have not purchased a kilt from them but those they had on display were always of the best quality and workmanship.

They are not cheap, but Kinloch Anderson are the finest outfitters in the land, holding three royal warrants. they also visit the Caledonian club in Belgravia, London once a month to help exiles like me

Mine is from Celtic Craft Centre. I was in Edinburgh and they measured me last Jul. 31. They produced an absolutely perfect and beautiful kilt and since then a beautiful fly plaid from the same bolt of material for me. I love it dearly, and there is no question in my mind that the work is exceptionally high quality. Indeed it has a triple fringe and while that is very subtle, it is absolutely a mark of superior attention to detail in production.
Unfortunately, living here in Canada, they're not very good at answering E-mails promptly or communicating when they run into delays in general. On the due-date for my kilt it wasn't here, so my credit-card company cancelled them and all of a sudden they answered my E-mails. Turns out that they couldn't get my tartan from the mill and hadn't told me. At that point, they put on a real rush and did an exceptionally perfect job. I'm still waiting for the matching flashes; they told me that they thought they had sent them.

Always found Houston Kiltmakers High Street, Paisley, near the university, good for quality and price. I know its bit of a distance from Edinburgh but worth looking up

Received my flashes and loops from Celtic Craft Centre by this morning's post. Excellent quality and perfectly sewn. I'll deal with them again for sure. :ootd:
