Wow, everyone! Thanks for all the welcomes!
I was just kicking around online and for the heck of it, I decided to look up some of the origins of some of the names in my family. As it turns out, I'm American/Scottish after all! My dad gave me some of the names from his and my mothers side of the family, and as it turns out I have Scottish, Irish and French and French Canadian in my blood. His folks' names were Gillespie and Clark, and my mother is a Fitzpatrick and Gager.
I found it interesting that both of the names that my dad gave me from his belong to Clan MacPherson, according to electricscotland.com. He doesn't seem to know a lot about his family, outside of his parentage or when any of his bloodline came to these shores, but with those 2 names having that connection, it makes me wonder how many relatives I might have in Scotland.
Anyway, I'm not sure what my point in telling anyone this was, but it feels like I may have found a good spot on the net to get to know a little about my ancestry, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all in the process.
Always, -Steve
