You can also go the route of a utility kilt. They're usually made in duck cloth. Tough as nails and machine washable.

I had a Thriftykilt and didnt like it at all. I wouldnt even wear it out of the house taking the trash to the dumpster. Waaaaaaaaay too thin! I imagine thier standard model is better.
    Somebody ought to.

I hate the acrylic that the Thrifty is made from, and Sport Kilts are way too much like my wife's skirts for me to feel comfortable wearing them. Personally, I would go with a USA Kilts Casual. They look and feel like real kilts, with all the features you asked for. Or if you like the contemporary look, but don't want to pay $250 for a Utilikilt, www.amerikilt.com sells a really nice product. I have 2 of them and wear them on a regular basis.
    Ditto.

I have a couple of SWK standards and hardly wear them, but they are way better than the thrifty. I also have one Sportkilt which I lounge around in and hangout around the yard, light yardwork, etc. but never wear it out anywhere. That said, I could wear to run to the corner store, but I never do. The "Comfy Kilt" has been said to wrinkle extremely easily and not hold pleats at all so you can pretty much count on it looking like you wrapped a blanket around yourself after wearing it for half a day. Fine for the living room, but I wouldn't even walk in front of the windows in one.

I would second the votes for USAK Casuals, but a SWK Standard is okay, and the regular SK will do the job, but considering the cost it's not worth it. And I always encourage making an X-Kilt.
