Thank you.
Hi Richard, thanks for your message. My wife comes from Portsmouth and we used to live at the top of Portsmouth Harbour, with the boat anchored within sight of the house. Cycling is great up here near the Peak district, it takes me less than a minute to get into the countryside; alas sailing is a bit more restricted.
Never did manage to learn the art of righting a kayak, but lots of people practise it on the river Derwent within ½ mile of our house. So any time you are in this area, come and play.

Hello tpa,
Welcome to XMarks from southeast of you in the middle of Thetford Forest in Norfolk.
Some would argue that Harpenden are the best games.

Hi Chas, thanks for the welcome. I have to admit my comment regarding the Asbourne Highland Gathering was the opinion others, better qualified than me to judge. I have never heard of the Harpenden Highland Gathering so reserve any further judgement until I can visit it. I note it is on the 10th July this year with Ashbourne on the 17th July, so not sure if I will be able to do both, but I'll put it in my diary.

Hi rsvpiper, thanks for the welcome and yes, would be pleased to meet up with you at Ashbourne. We are usually away when Chatsworth is held, but as it is only about 15 mins away, we will be there if we are here if you get what I mean.
I guess you play the pipes as opposed to making them. I have made a note to get in touch nearer the time, so we can touch base.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
