    If anyone in the family knits, there's a great pattern in Piecework magazine this month, and for $10 you could buy enough wool for two lads. The basic premise is (using 100% wool yarn) knit it about twice the desired size, and felt it to fit. This is suitable for a learner, it's nothing but knit stitch with some increases and decreases to get the shaping.

    I don't suppose the pattern can be found online, can it? We have very little luck keep magazines in one piece around our house. Beagles are hard on reading material.
