Wearing a kilt is like singing a song that reaches into your heart. It's a personal expression of deep love and connection.

Fortunately, this addiction is rooted in FREEDOM!!

Every part of the garb is addicting. Shoes/boots/kilt hose/flashes/kilts/belts/sporrans/sporran straps/jackets/hats and caps/kilt pins/etc etc

I think the accessorie addictions are rooted in medicating the jones while waiting for a new kilt to arrive...

Fortunately too, there's no need for a cure.

    It gets worse

Here is how bad it has got for me.

Last weekend I was in San Francisco at the Steinhart Aquarium. While looking at the tropical fish I found myself relating them to tartans I liked.

"Oh look at that dark maroon and green one, it looks like a Lindsay"
(again, the tartan, not the people )

It is a funny condition, but fortunately it's consequence is mainly to our bank accounts!

It makes me think about the first time I had foie gras. I was nervous and didn't think I was going to like it. Now I'm putting it on steaks and is one of my favorite flavors. Once you put a kilt on you ask yourself what the H377 was I doing all this time? And it begins. You are now obsessed. And it's awesome!!!

    Recovering kiltaholic here.
It's kind of hard to un-become a XMarksaholic, though.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

We're with ya, man! I myself just yesterday ordered my first tartan from Stillwater kilts, so I get to start enjoying my first jones. There's a sponsor link on the right side of the page, in case ya hadn't found it yet.

    Anyways, from Holt, MI!

BREAK: Steve, Are you sure that you ordered from Stillwater Kilts? Yesterday? Your kilt should've arrived on Wednesday this week. Obviously the space-time transmorgifier is on the fritz.

Back on Subject: Welcome to the fold. The first part to feeding your kilt addiction is admitting your kilt addiction. My addiction to kilts is because of the comfort. Tr**sers are a bit more convenient to wear, especially when you have 6 or more pockets to put stuff into. Kilted is comfortable but for me requires that I really check to ensure that I don't attempt to overfill my sporran. Two PV's from SportKilt (Edzell and NFFF), a Stillwater Heavyweight in Black Watch.
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

Welcome to the addiction! Just keep telling yourself that there are worse things to be addicted to, and then re-affirm all the good things that come with being kilted!
