A Dutch friend who saw me in my kilt on Paddy's day, decided to think about buying one for his holidays this year in Scotland....my advice is Stillwater wool, no use on forking out big money in addition to holiday expenses. He's a big fella so the 24inch won't be a problem for him. My Hector Russel is spot on at 23.5 inch, but if I ordered another I'd go 23"....however at the price of SW I can live with it being 1 or 1/2 inch too long.
The main thing if it is for outdoor use I'd like it lighter than my traditional 8yrd 16oz.
Shame they don't do a 5yrd in wool. That would be perfect.
