I have IE9 installed and I always have to stare at the block adverts at the top of the page for anything from ten to forty five seconds before the rest of the page loads even though I have broadband. I blame the delays on the computer, I think I may need to add extra memory or buy a new PC.

Some people have a preference for IE and some for FF (only know one person who really loves Chrome). I see enough issues with all of them that I really don't make a recommendation to people anymore on what I think may be best. As long as your happy with what you use than what you are using is right for you.

I'm using IE8 in Windows XP. Archaic, yes, but I do have a high-speed cable connection (Roadrunner). All other sites load lickety-split. This site is a bit faster today, but still noticeably slower than others....

My thoughts as well. When I log on to xmarks from my girlfriend's PC on Mozilla FireFox, the pages download much quicker than they do on my home PC on IE9, but I believe its more to do with the individual PCs rather than the relative merits of FF or IE9.

I've had a problem the past few days. When I click on a thread to read it, it will look as if it is loading up, but it will take a millennium to do anything. I find that if I click on the link multiple times, after three or four (or twelve) attempts the page boots right up lickety-split.
And it doesn't do it all the time. I'd say about half the time.
I seem to have this problem whatever computer I am using, and regardless of web browser (I use a couple of different ones). So I'm assuming it's a problem with the forum itself.
As I said, it's just been the past few days.

This website continues agonizingly slow for me, while all others load in an instant. Very frustrating...!

agreed. Sometimes it is slow enough to time out.
