Please stop by the Clan MacTavish tent and say hello. Chances are I'll be wearing Lewis Kilt Hose I also got from Matt.

We will Mark, thank you! Do you know if personal coolers are allowed? My wife, Stephanie, and I always bring our own beverages and snacks to Highland games and other related events.

This will be our first time at these games, so I'm not sure if there are any restrictions on personal coolers. I did not see anything about such restrictions in the info packet we received or on their web site.

Thanks Mark. I didn't see any restrictions either. This will be our first time attending as well. We shall see I guess - see you on May 14!

The site is a state park, so I would suggest leaving the adult bevvies at home (or leave them in your vehicle and be very discreet about them). State parks in Kentucky are dry (alcohol-free). (It's actually against state law to drink alcohol in a public place - KRS 222.202.)
A flask would probably be OK (again, just be discreet). A six-pack or even a pony keg, while probably popular until confiscated, would probably not.
I'd love to arrange a brief meet-up/photo op in the morning hours, somewhere near the memorial cross? (If you haven't been there before or don't know where it is, just ask the nice folks at the gate.) Since I'll be acting PM on the day, I'll be busy with the pipe band in the hour or so leading up to the opening ceremony and afterwards the band contest(s), so maybe 10:45?
I should also add there are no accommodations for pets at the Games.

Going to try to make it down from Ohio. Wouldn't make it in time to take part in a group photo, but will make an attempt to introduce myself at the clan tent that was mentioned. Recently ordered my son's first kilt so hopeful that it arrives in time.

Hello John,
Thanks for the information mate, I appreciate it. Sure! My wife and I could meet you (and hopefully others who plan to attend?) near the memorial cross. I have no idea wear that is, but like you mentioned, I can ask the people at the gate. I photo opportunity sounds brilliant, and the more 'xmarkers' we can get together, the merrier! Below is a photo of myself and my lovely wife, Stephanie, so you may spot us in the crowd! See you there mate.

Re photo op:
That's a great idea. Assuming I can step away from the Clan MacTavish tent for a bit, I'll plan on being there at 10:45.

Wonderful! We look forward to seeing you. Sandy (JSFMACLJR) may be joining us from Louisville as well. Let's hope for good weather...not entirely too warm, I would like to wear my tweeds!
Yours aye,

And this would be me and my lovely pipes in my band uniform (at my parents house - they have a digital camera, I still use film, Luddite that I am). Our sporran has changed to a hunting sporran with chrome cantle, and if the temp is expected to be above 78 or so we'll be in short sleeves.
The tartan is Ancient Henderson (kind of a bluish green), and the Glengarry has a blue toorie.
