Nice pictures and commentary, thanks for posting. Is Sandy Chief of Maclean of Duart?
Somebody ought to.

No, that would be Sir Lachlan Maclean of Duart and Morvern.

Very well dressed. You make me want tweed even more. Cheers!

Those are some nice photos. The gentleman with the pipes would be Larry, President of the Louisville Pipe Band. (Wearing his band kit.) He's a grade 3 soloist. He and Sandy attend the same church in Louisville.
Kyle, once again it was wonderful to meet you and your lovely wife Stephanie. I wish I could have stayed longer to chat. I also wish I could have been wearing my own kit rather than the band kit when we met. Oh well. Another time perhaps.
KSW is a nice Games, but it's small (and has gotten smaller in the last 3-4 years). This year was one of the smallest crowds I've seen there, and there were very few vendors compared to years past (the sidewalks were once lined on both sides, with a couple of vendors set up in the grass between/behind the others).
The Glasgow (KY) Highland Games at Barren River State Park (June 2-5, 2011) is the big one for Kentucky. It may be a bit further than you want to travel. The shortest route takes you through Louisville - a little over 200 miles and 3 1/2 hours or so. Things start on Thursday and run to Sunday afternoon. They have a Tartan Ball at the park's lodge on Saturday night, concurrent with a rock concert and bonfire at the main field. I don't plan on going there this year, but you can PM me if you want more info.
Yours aye,
John

Kyle, it's always great to meet up with fellow XMarkers and with you and Sandy having much in common, it's clear you got on like a house on fire. Grand set of pictures. Thanks for letting us in.

I liked the shirts, ties, jackets, and bunnets, gents! (The kilts, too, of course)
