Good question, Wally! This the first year that the town is closing off that part of Main St, so the parking places right on the street will be unavailable. However, I believe the large lot by the police station will still be accessible. And the parking behind both sides of Main St will still be accessible, and I am assuming there will be ample signage to direct traffic where to go. I understand that Palmer St will be two-way for the day.

I'm not directly involved in that aspect of things so sorry I don't have the details, but yes there will be parking, and yes there should be signs so you'll know where it is. :-)

Matt, thank you for your reply. I got it via "Reply to thread email" and when I clicked to see it on XMarks, I got a 404 Error Message. I couldn't log in all day till I shut down and rebooted my computer so I didn't see it on XMarks till now.

I appreciated your reply. I'll be on the lookout for the parking directions as I come into Franklin from the north. Looking forward to my 5th visit to the museum and my first Taste of Scotland Festival.

There's a good bit of parking behind the museum, as well as on the other side of the street. I think there's another primary parking location for the ToS, but I'm a bit hazy on that.

I'm sure Matt, or someone, will be able to chime in with a more concrete answer. In the mean time, I'll also ask around.

Almost time guys! This year's event should be a great one. The town is blocking the street for two blocks downtown meaning the whole area will be pedestrian friendly, and we will have vendors ALL DOWN MAIN STREET.

We are also having a "Braveheart 5K" run this year (with the participant encouraged to be kilted). Last check we had over 100 participants signed up.

And, of course, bands, dancers, food, and much fun will be had by all. See you there!

Wish we could be there Matthew! We would love to finally meet you mate, and I am dying to visit The Scottish Tartans Museum in Franklin! I tend to think that we would have much to talk about over a wee dram or two! Have a great time and hopefully we can meet sooner rather than later! My wife and I are planning to attend Grandfather and Stone Mountain this year - our first time to both games - we are indeed excited! If you have any recommendations in terms of lodging, what to do, where to go, etc, please don't hesitate to let me know. Either PM me, or perhaps we can begin another thread in regards to this specific topic. Thanks Matthew!

    Cheers,
