PS...
...flashes...not flashers (in case you didn't notice from the responses).
Personally not a fan for the poofy shirts, but if you like it, wear it. All in all, not bad for an initial outing.

Thanks longhunter74. I have a lot of T-shirts but I thought I would try a poofy shirt for a renaissance look for the games.

Agree with the thread, flashes more towards the front. As for the balmoral, it goes well with casual and other more formal events. I would tie the ribbons, but that is just opinion. You can leave it the way you prefer, if you prefer the tied look, stitch it in place to avoid having to constantly adjust the bow.

I agree with pauljsharp about the ribbons. If they're sewn together down the edge, you need to take a seam ripper and undo the stitching, then tie them in a bow, leave them loose or cut them off altogether. Regardless of what you might read, there is no "secret code" about Balmoral ribbons.
And, if it were my head and hat, I'd tilt the crown of it (the hat, that is) over to the right so that it would lop over my right ear.
All in all, a fine look and a kilt to be proud of. Where's your first kilted adventure going to be?

When given a choice, most people will choose.

Thanks piperdbh, I will try it tilted over and see how it works, my first outing will be the Texas Scottish Festival & Highland Games the first weekend in June. That is why I went ahead and got a off the rack for now.

One thing to remember that these fine gentlemen and women let me know before I began my outings was that you are 120% guarenteed to see all kinds of crazy things when you go out, so don't sweat it too much!

That wont be much of a problem, I did read all the things I could find on how to respond to folks asking question

Thanks paulsharp, I have not seen them tied in a bow, that is a idea i will keep in mind

I think you look just fine. I too agree about the flashes. But the main thing to remember is you dress to please yourself first and those on this or any forum should remain as observers only.

Looks great, especially for off the rack! Flashes, obviously you got enough feedback on that! Good look. And yes, do tell on this kilted adventure!
