    you might want to look at a sporting goods store, they usually sell children's soccer socks, which come in a number of colours.

    Otherwise, if you have a "wilderness outfitters" around you, like Cabelas or REI, they have kid's hiking socks which work.

    If you don't mind ordering off eBay, THESE are decent kilt hose for the price, especially for small ones whose feet tend to outgrow stuff before they wear it out.

    x2 on the Soccer socks, that's what my son wears and no one can tell the difference. It works out too as he also wears them for soccer and baseball

    My son's ecru hose are too itchy (and big) for him to wear anyway, which is why he wears football socks (shown) or soccer socks.

    I cant vouch for the tartan kids kilts, the black one is not one i would buy again. Its the old adage you get what you pay for and for 20 bucks.... well its a 20 $$ kilt. I can however vouch for the Alt Kilt kids kilts and high praise for those as a contemporary kilt. rough and rugged and looks great as well
