Modern Kilts?

Rocky is so correct! That's why I always recomend Amerikilt. Their prices are excellent, and they're made in America! Not to mention good quality. It used to be that the material they used wrinkled like crazy, and my black one is that older material. But my green one is a new material that they started using, and it holds it's shape much better!!

Can you expound on this new material? I don't see anything on their website about this. The wrinkle issue with Amerikilt was no small thing, mine literally wrinkled looking at. It was such a pain to press it well and 5 minutes of wear and it would already be significantly wrinkled. I have since sold mine but would be interested in hearing about this new material.

B/C I was curious about his fabric as well, I emailed Mike and this was his response:

We've been using a 9oz synthetic athletic apparel fabric (in Black and Navy Blue) for a while now - but we're in the process of transitioning and consolidating our fabrics over to a 10oz cotton duck - the same as is used by Carhartt for their work trousers. Stuff is nearly indestructable, softens beautifully with wear and is available in Black, Olive, Forest, Khaki and Saffron. We still have some synth in stock - but not much. In addition, we're always willing to make a custom AmeriKilt out of customer supplied fabric - provided it's not tartan The fellas can shoot me an email for all the details.

I prefer Utilikilts and Rkilts. Utilikilts started the contemporary kilt movement and the owner of Rkilts, Robert, is very easy to talk to.
