The World's and other places.
Had some time away with my son Tom this weekend just. We went up to Glasgow to watch the World Piping Championships, then spent the night in Dumfries and a day mooching about along 'Adrians wall... (or Hadrians wall as it's know in other parts of the country).
Anywhoo...
It was hoying it down as we left home early.
The motorway up North was reasonably clear.
After about three and a half hours and a bit of a diversion in Glasgow we eventually got to Glasgow Green and parked up. As soon as we stepped out of the car it began to pour down with rain so we armed ourselves with raincoats and set off across the park.
By the time we were 100 meters from the car the rain had gone and the sun was out. Unfortunately it meant we were carrying coats with us for the rest of the day.
A small chap playing very well.
The grandstand for the Grade 1's later.
View across the green.
The ferris wheel.
A Band warms up.
The Drum Major's competition.
And again. This lady was good.
There was also a terrific little girl who was practicing for this competition. She must have been about 8 or 9 and was dressed immaculately in Kilt, Argyle and Glengarry cap. She was hurling her mace high in the air and catching it perfectly while marching along. She was very impressive indeed. I didn't get a picture unfortunately.
