    You might consider hemming it just below the sleeve length, rather than above. Then it might do with trousers as well. Or just keep looking, another one will come along eventually.

    Sounds good to me...wish that the kilt jacket manufacturers would get with the idea of making them out of something besides barthea and tweed...

    Looks like I have to wait for word from my father in law on info about the jacket. It may be vintage 1970's in which case I would hate to chop it up for a kilt jacket. The color is a little darker than tan, almost camel hair. We tried it up next to my kilts. I like it with all but the Scotland the brave. I think it's the purple of the tartan that clashes.
