Absolutely. One of my tweed jackets is very plainly trimmed- basically a normal jacket, but of kilt-length.

I like some of the ideas already provided and would just echo...if you like your tailor, then go for it. Especially if the price is right! A plain styled jacket with the kilt length and sporran cut away is definitely something on my wish list.
