EB, I agree, when the Tartan Army are on "manoeuvres" they are a wonder to behold!

Fascinating thing though. There were Scotland Blue and Netherlands Orange shirts everywhere, all getting along soundly and despite the river of beer that was flowing amongst them, not a sniff of trouble. Unfortunately the same can't be said for a minority of travelling England supporters.
I was in Birmingham in 1996 when we met Holland in our section, and their fans are amazing and nuts as you say. Scots and Dutch fans really get on well together

I was downtown Glasgow that day (I'm still here, actually). I've never seen so many kilted men, even at a highland games. They wore a very wide variety of shoes and "hose" with their kilts, though nearly everyone had a Scotland home kit shirt on. Good to see that even the Scots do some stuff "wrong" when they're going casual.

Ah yes, but you need to understand that there is; the right way, the wrong way and the Tartan Army's way of doing things.

So was my man! Unlike many, he gets VERY bashful when these sorts of things happen and his face goes redder than his tartan.

Which makes me laugh even more!

Och! Wish I would be here for that. Oh well, I'll just have to wear it at home in the States anyway. Go Scotland!

Leeanne, if your man and the rest of us done this thing in Glasgow or anywhere in Scotland we would be arrested, the Tartan Army mostly gets away with it abroad. A few years ago when Scotland played Portugal in Lisbon, (Ally McCoist broke his leg in that game) a lot of fans where staying down in the Algarve and had an impromptu football match on the beach in front of some restaurants, a couple of dozen fans were arrested for guess what and spent the night in the cells, missing the game
