Now you're going to make me paranoid.
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

I vote for 1/2 of a set of really over-the-top ghillie brogue laces (assuming one of the ends is detachable for lacing!).

Nope, not pouches. The furry diamond-shaped thingamabobs are solid. Could they have anything to do with a military outfit? Maybe tied onto the shoulder and trailing across the chest, signifying the wearer is an aid to a very strange general?

Ahhh yes, I've seen these before. It's a leash for a pet haggis. My grandfather used to have one just like that. The littles beasie was quite a feistyl chap, and so it had to have a rather short leash.

Some kind of bolo tie but the slide is missing? Not usually worn with a kilt though.

My only thought is that they were used for wearing a Gorget. However the Gorget usually had ribbons tied in rosettes to hold the Gorget on its cord, not wee furry pieces. Unless it's a Canadian thing. Other than that, I haven't a clue.
