Nice kilt & tartan; colorful yet subtle.

Thanks for the positive comments everyone! The waistcoat is a wool blend tweed I found on ebay for $15. It was a UK seller but when I got the waistcoat I discovered it was made in Canada. How appropriate given my kilt! The sporran is one I made myself. It's only the second one I ever made and my first attempt at a Rob Roy. I modified the pattern a bit from the troop 7 Boy Scout project pattern that has been linked several times on this site. I'm flattered you mistook it for professional work.

A fine look all around. And your lawnmower did a good job, too.

Yes, these colours are lighter than some that I've seen but it reveals the pattern of the sett more clearly. Very nice!

Love the sporran and the kilt goes well with the green hose and red flashes. Very smart.

Very smart indeed. Congratulations for all - the great kilt, the beautiful vest and the fine sporran.

Remy, Now I've got mine, it's gorgeous. Rocky is right about that tartan. Pics will have to wait till next week.
I'm glad you posted your "Let the jones begin" thread and Rocky followed up with a photo post of that tartan in a kilt. That thread and Rocky's comments with the photo caused me to place my order for a 5-yarder in that tartan and start my JONES which has now ended.

    Wally,
I'm glad your wait is over as well. Rocky emailed me that same photo when I contacted him with some questions on the Batley version of the Maple Leaf. It helped me make my decision as well. He should really post that picture instead of the swatch picture on his website! I can't wait to see your photos of my kilt's "brother".
