Re: Amazing Festival!!!
Looks like a good time! What is the name of the festival and where was it located?
It was the Longs Peak Scottish-Irish Festival, held in Estes Park, Co. at 7600 ft. elevation. It took place from the 8th - 11th of September and was a wonderful party. Chris and I especially enjoyed Brothers and Albannach, but all the shows were great. There were lots of clan booths (75) set up in 5 giant tents, vendors everywhere, and enough food to have fed both sides at Bannachburn. I liked the booth selling Scottish and meat pies. We will go back next year.
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

Ah... Wish I could have gone. Albannach and Brother are 2 of my favorite bands. Maybe next year.

It was good meeting you there. I'm so used to the effect the sun has at altitude that it's automatic putting the sunscreen on and never think to mention it to visitors. I do remember to remind them to keep drinking water.

Looks like you guys had a great day, thanks for the pics. As for the sunburn, kind of makes a case for broadbrim hats in sunny climates.
Actually, the wolfhound, Áine was trying to decide whether she should attempt to protect Baldy from that vicious beastie attacking his mid section or stay out of it. I am glad that she exercised restraint. If she would have gotten involved the results could have been tragic.

Aye! I was thinking about maybe throwing the sporran and running in the other direction!

Broad brimmed hats. Good plan on sunny days anywhere. I've even been know to wear one with my Kilt in Englandshire.
