Pug- thought you may like this picture:

That's Sloan's Laks in the back ground. I walk around the lake every morning- every morning- rain or snow. You should talk to Ryan Ross on the board here and get one of his bonnets. In the cold, that thing keeps my noggin warm. In the rain, it keeps me dry. It's nearly waterproof! If you have cold weather (which I know you do) that hat will be your best friend.

By the way, I like the leggings idea. It looks really unique. I really like the way it looks on you.

Re: woohoo - first snow storm kilted!

A long plaid is the thing for bad weather - I wear one which is quite like a Roman toga. The ends fall from the left shoulder, where they cross after looping around the body, one in front and one behind.

The military wear their version folded and pulled tight around the ribs, but I wear mine looser so I can carry things in the sinus - the folds at the mid point.

When opened out it can cover from head to toe, either vertically, or, my preferred method, wrapped around in a spiral, once around the body, once around the shoulders and then the end over the head. You might get wet - but you will also leave a vapour trail as the water evaporates off in the warmth.
