Call for suggestions on leftover tartan fabric

Unlimited uses for the smaller bits if you have a bit of sewing skill.

I had a family tartan scarf beset by some pesky moths. After freezing the cloth to remove any remaining evildoers, I used the remaining portions for hat badge flashes, a permanent pocket square for a sport coat (the front pocket being non-functional), a new bow on an otherwise uninspiring hat band, etc.

Anything you want to add a bit of family color and embellishment to an existing garment, go for it.

For the larger square, perhaps the top to a tam? Hem the edges and use it for a small table piece on special occasions?

Pocket squares, or Vest, all good ideas. Leftovers invite creativity.
If you have a lightweigt windbreaker, line it and use velcro tabs to hold it in place so you can convert back for milder weather.

Glue a small piece of tartan cloth over your luggage tag(s) makes it easy to identify your luggage.

A year or two ago, I bought some stuffed animals (Scotty Dogs, as I remember) that were made of woolen tartan cloth. They looked sharp, and the kids that I bought them for liked them.

Thanks to everyone so far for the great suggestions, I appreciate it!

davidg was right up top, I did use the wrong conversion factor to go from inches to centimetres. I used 1"=1.6cm, which I think is actually for mi to km. I'll reconvert and edit my post up top. My tape measure here only has inches and I'm not very used to thinking imperial

The waitstcoat idea sounds quite interesting for sure! I'll have to check and see if I can find a pattern or a tailor that knows if I have enough fabric. Thanks for that for sure!

I was thinking of cutting the metre block in half down the length and joining it to make a good long scarf as well. I wear one from fall to spring, so I'd get daily wear out of it for 3/4 of the year, and I like that idea.

My sewing skills are practically non-existent, so for me to do it, it was to be dirt dumb, or I find a seamstress

I think there's enough for a waistcoat, but not one cut on the bias. It depends on how big a boy you are.
