The casual look is fine. I like the sweater, kilt look. Very well done.

    Re: The Jones is over

I was thinking about the sporran issue - I wore a sporran with a cheap Black Watch kilt today, and the fasteners damaged the material on the apron, so I'm not so worried about wearing one I will wear the Heritage one next week to a family function the Mrs doesn't approve - she tolerates, and said if she hated my kilts she would burn them I just want to wear something different from regular jeans each time I go out

Love the Heritage of Scotland tartan. I wanted that for my first, but wife suggested black watch as more "safe" than purple. This will be my second kilt though! Looks great!

If you need to wear a sporran and don't want to hurt the kilt, try a leather strap. By the way, looks great!

Congratulations on the new kilt! You look very handsome indeed. I like the loooong Saxon tie, but the sweater even more.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Looking sharp. As was mentioned above, a sporran strap is a good purchase. Much, much less risk of damage and less wear on the kilt. Plus, IMHO, they look better unless you're going formal, and even then, most folks don't really notice.

Nice choice of tartans as well. Kilt on!

    Re: The Jones is over

Thanks for the comments - I'll think about a leather strap for my sporran, but in the meantime I'll wear the kilt 'casual' (paired with a sweater) on the weekend - probably the Heritage - my little one wants a kilt too, I got her one in matching tartan - but it was a little cold for her to wear it.

Some have asked about my sporran, I finally wore it this weekend with the Black Stewart, though I think it sits too low. I can't adjust it anymore

I was going to wear the Heritage of Scotland....

    ...but perhaps another time
