I understand looking for accessories and think that works great but if you are into that type of thing reading the A Song of Ice and Fire series should hold you over for a while

    Back to your original question.
While I was waiting for mine I surfed the web looking for all the things I could get to go with it. That was 10 years ago and all I had to go by was what I saw at higland games I really could have used a site like this back then but knew nothing about it.

Pass the time by surfing the Internet for accessories...searching on this board for the quality reputation of vendors you're thinking of dealing with, then ordering your accessories a few at a time so that they arrive periodically and help medicate the jones of waiting for the kilt.

    Works for me anyway....

There's another kind of jones too....when you don't have a kilt or an accessorie on order....there's a craving to buy "something."

This exactly what I do, order at different times from different places and even different countries. Spreads the arrival time out quite nicely. Never know what the postman (santa, easter bunnie, birthday delivery, tooth fairy, or whatever) will bring you that week. Eases the addiction better than methadone.

    Re: What do you do?

I waited three years for my last one. Its a long story. I looked at the tartan over and over on the internet, kept a printed-out copy in my bureau. I checked in once or twice a year to see that I wasn't forgotten. I already had a tank and a good hacker so no loss. I wasn't running around nekkid or something. I thought a lot about it and sometimes drove slowly by her house to imagine getting it one day soon. May have bordered on depression but never on stalking. THEN I GOT IT! Made it all the better.

Try whistling the theme from "Jeopardy" whilst drumming your fingers sitting at the kitchen table. If you ordered from Jerry at Stillwater it should arrive after the first completed theme stanza and a few drummings. If you ordered from anybody else, it will probably take a few more repeats.

My longest wait was a little over 11 months---ordered a kilt in a special weave from an online UK vendor in early May knowing it would take a while to get the special weave made up, called in December only to find out it had been shipped in August but never arrived at my door, so had to start the whole process over again (with an alleged "rush" put on it by the chagrinned vendor) and it showed up the last week of the following April. Worth the wait----as nice as any kilt I own, and gorgeous.

Learn to enjoy the jones. It will not be your last.

Thanks, then I had to find this blast from the past:

Knotty, haven't forgot you just trying to help you pass the time - LOL
The accessorizing is more fun than the kilt its self.
