There are several threads re SHO in the Archives, just type in Skye Highland Outfitters in the search engine and you will have some good reading

I have a beautiful MacEwan modern knife pleated tank from Skye Highland Outfitters. I absolutely love it and Josh was great to work with. He helped walk me through every level of the kilt choice process. My kilt did have a delay due to his mothers health (if I remember correctly). But we can -have it fast - have it inexpensive or -well made. Choose two. The hose story is a super long wait and I might be chirping a different tune if it happened to me. But my experience was all good.

    Cowher,
Glad you had a good experience with SHO. Mine sucked! It was not so much the time as the total lack of communication from Josh. I understand "things happen" but when/if they do communicating with your customers is important. In this, Skye is an epic fail. Won't do business there again, won't recomend them, and will share my experience with those who ask.

Ordered a pair of blue/brown diced hose from Josh back in late 2008-09 and had no problems whatsoever.

For those who understand, no explanation is necessary; for those who don't, none is possible.

    Re: skye highland outfitters

Well I for one have had great service from Skye Highland Outfitters and have made several purchases from Josh. In 2010, in planning for a vacation I had ordered 2 casual PV kilts which were not only delivered in time for my departure but ahead of schedule. I have also not experienced any communications issues with them regarding any of my purchases.

I and several others ordered argyll hose to match the XMTS tartan and I was satisfied with the service and the quality. This is the only purchase I have made from SHO, but I had no problems.

Well this is why I love this place.

I was thinking of a sheriffmuir doublet and SHO has a good price...but I don't think I have the temperment it may or may not take to buy one.
I've made purchases from companies with less than steller reps. before, with win some/loose some results. I do however admire the decretion of our membership, my first PM was about 30sec after my post and one of the best worded "buyer bewares "I have read.
Thank you all for your candor and advice and I am sorry to have opened old wounds.

    Andy
