    Re: Mask Sporran DON'T

That thing's a sin against sporran making, taxidermy, and racoons.

...all it's fit for is a proper burial.

I agree with that distinct possibility.

That is just...just...well, there are no words for me to say just how bad that is. The thought that some poor raccoon had to give up it's life for that monstrosity is a crime. Don't me wrong, I have fur sporrans and love all my leather, but those are art forms. This is trash.

A visual representation of the word "abomination."
"My beloved America, thank you for your children. If your children want to become soldiers I will train them. When they are hungry I will feed them. When they are thirsty I will give them water. When they fight for freedom I will lead them. When they are unsteady on the battlefield I will motivate them. If they die on the battlefield I will bury them. So help me God."

    Matt,
Not to steal your thunder, but I've got another one I just stumbled on.

It's apparently a "42nd Blackwatch American Badger Sporran".

    Oh, the horror!

Jeez, it looks like a sporran someone barely started but then got to lazy to finish.

    Re: Mask Sporran DON'T

I looked around in their store and they had some pretty nice looking stuff. But after seeing the workmanship on this, or lack thereof, they are definitely on my "never buy from" list.

As far as the badger.... If this is truly a "chick magnet"... I need to know which town he is in so I can stay very far away!

Not sure which is worse. Yet I can't stop coming back for another look. Gonna have to download these for posterity. I've never seen anything like either of these two things, regardless of what they are called. I'm pretty sure 19th century mountain men wouldn't have been caught wearing either of these just on the ugly factor.

The sad thing is that, compared to the racoon, that badger looks like a work of art.

Both of these fellows should have stayed greasy spots in the road, I'm afraid.

EDIT: Are those plastic beads from the craft store?

I saw that first one and had an urge to draw my sgain dubh and defend the poor person who's crotch was being mauled by that angry looking animal!

***EDIT*** I just showed that auction to my wife and threatened to buy it. She threatened to leave me if I did... and I don't think she was kidding.
