    Well done. Too often we think of only the special accoutrements of kilt wearing and fail to look at the kilt as an article of clothing. In situations like this we can use other articles of clothing to their best advantage. You made good use of what was at hand.

    Looking good! I tend to wear Barbour waxed jackets, quilted vests, and quilted jackets for serious outdoor pursuits whilst in the kilt. Of course, if I am doing something strenous outdoors, then I might decide to leave the kilt at home!

    Cheers,

    I was a "jacket junkie" before I was a "kilt addict" The two addictions have flourished since they've mixed. I do understand...

    Hello from a fellow flyfisherman. You cannot beat that look in a good-looking jacket.

    I have been shopping for a new shortie. I cannot find anyone who makes a jacket like the one that I have durn near worn out that is 15 years old now.

    I need your help if you know a source for a jacket like mine that costs less than $550:

    Here are the vitals:

    * goretex or counterpart
    * 3-layer construcion (open mesh lining separates one's body from the microfiber sandwich)
    * Storable hood
    * neoprene wrist bands, gusseted, with velcro
    * pass-though accees from outer jacket to inside clothing

    Much appreciated.

    There are lots available from Bass Pro, Cabelas, Simms, Patagonia, Columbia and more. Hard to say without really searching all the sites. I really like the old Fenwick I have on in my picture but like most good stuff long ago been discontinued.

    I did notice that Cabela's has this one on sale right now for $99, I have had good luck with most of the clothing products I have bought from them.
