Another welcome! West Michigan here, just outside Grand Rapids. I too own a SWK - well, actually two! Working on making a sporran now and also a wool 12oz. kilt. Yes, I know, pictures.... When complete, I'll post.

Got a new belt on the way.
Was not sure what colors to go with, so i started with black.
other then the belt, what do ya think?

That's a good-looking kilt on you. As many of the gentlefolk on these parts will tell you, there are many colors you can wear with your kilt. From my perspective, there's almost no color you can't wear with it.

It's a fine start bakerbert. You might consider a sporran strap, and lose the chain. As budget allows, perhaps a bit larger sporran, you appear to be a full size guy and the sporran appears a tad small for your frame and hands. Experiment with some other hose colors and garters, blues, greens, grey, yellows, at your leisure.
And in time, you may find that the current girlfriend is the easiest accessory to replace.
