That would be me. The guy who makes a chicken look like they are walking on tree trunks. I always described myself as having chicken legs.. until my wife pointed out that chicken legs actually have some meat on them and that I was insulting chickens. But get some nice thick hose, like Lewis. They provide the illusion of well sculptured calves, as much as my kilts give the illusion that I am well sculptured...<slapped on back of head... end transmission>

from Chicago. I think the Thrifty is a good place to start not a major investment. Their 'heavy weight' wool kilts are also quite decent for the price.

another Welcome from Ohio! The saying around these parts is "If you don't have pictures, it didn't happen." So, pictures, please. Trust me. Nobody is going to comment on spindly legs. Kilt length, yes. Kilt accessories, yes. Kilt belt, yes. Fur vs. leather hunting sporran, yes. But not legs. Funny. Nobody has commented on bad hair day, as far as I know. int:int:int:int: It's Friday. Where's my Guinness?

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. Here's the only pic I have so far; my wife took it with her phone:

Yeah, dumb pose, no shoes...not the best look. The belt is the one I normally wear, but it goes pretty well with it. I don't have any kilt accessories like a sporran yet since I wasn't sure I'd like the kilt.
I got this a day before we went on a little trip. I wore it around the hotel, but not out in public. I really like how comfortable it is, and my wife thinks it looks good on me, so I'll probably be picking up some better ones in the near future.

I ordered a SWK Standard in the Nightstalker tartan on Monday and just received it today. Man, they're fast.
Holy cow, I love this thing! It looks great, feels amazing, and fits me perfectly, which I was a bit worried about since their smallest size is actually a bit large for me. Most of the places that have inexpensive, ready-to-go kilts tend to have 30" as their smallest size. Admittedly, I usually wear pants that have a 30" waist because finding something I like in a 28" can be difficult. Anyway, I don't even have to cinch the straps up all the way to get it to stay put, but I still have plenty of room for when my awesome metabolism inevitably starts failing.
I have some accessories coming later this week, so I'll wait to put up a picture until I can be a bit more put together.
