Redshank,
Thank you for letting me know about the color choices, as I really wanted to buy from Dunadd. You went out of your way to assure me my bonnet was ordered and then you took the time to notify me that it shipped. If I need a mackie i know to look no further than Dunadd. The service has more than met with my approval and I already know the bonnet will be top notch. I found a picture of another bonnet on this website but I didn't know if it was appropriate to repost someone elses picture. the bonnet can hopefully be seen here http://www.google.com/imgres?q=site:...r:0,s:40,i:164 I hope the blue bonnet in question is fairly obvious (the bloke to the right)
Cheers

That is what I have always though too. I realise that you live in Argyll Chris, but an unexpected visit and knock on the front door of Inveraray Castle is hardly necessary...ha-ha...just kidding!
Cheers my friend,
I wouldn't go to those lengths Kyle, I would wait for them to come to me, they often walk past the shop on their way into the wee town.

Looks like a saxe blue to me Nick, same as Sailortats, see his post "arrived in 6 days" in the Dunadd Trading section

Redshank,
I really don't think the saxe blue is as much of a light or "powder" blue, perhaps the bonnets I am looking at are just older and faded? If so that's too bad, I was really hoping to get that color without years of wear in the sun . Do you believe the saxe blue and lovat blue just faded into the color I am referring to? Would my only option be to purchase a bonnet in one of those colors and let nature take its course? Thank you for your time.
Cheers

Thanks for the kind words Nick. This was a few years ago, early in my kiltwearing days, and I think I went a bit overboard on the blues that day, as I know that I would not likely pair the same stuff together today, except maybe on the golf course. I really like the bonnet myself, but the colors are a bit too bold for me in general. I have tended toward the more stealth colors the last couple years.

Nick, if you have a specific colour in mind, a photo, or better a sample, myself and Mackie's will do our upmost to get a match for you, all you need do is ask, we offer no guarantees other than we will do our best.

I think this is indeed the case, and is what happened with The Duke of Argyll's Balmoral - Lovat blue crown that simply faded over many years to a faint, light bluish-grey. However, I am sure Mackie could reproduce the 'faded in the sun' look that His Grace's headgear exhibits. Hmmm...I may have to have a go at that one, Chris!
Cheers,
